It is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, while its United States’ operations are Based in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, and European operations are based in Hamburg, Germany.
The business is named following Mount Olympus, the home of the gods in Greek mythology. Considering that its foundation in 1919, the business has gone through a few name changes. Beneath is a table of the corporate names by which Olympus was recognized considering that it was founded.
Olympus has a lengthy history in camera and lens style. In 1936, Olympus introduced its initial camera, the Semi-Olympus I. The initial truly innovative camera series from Olympus was the PEN models, launched in 1959. Half-frame format, allowing 72 images of 18 × 24 mm format on a standard 36 exposure roll of film, made PEN cameras compact and portable for their time.
The PEN method design team, led by Yoshihisa Maitani, later designed the OM method, a full frame skilled 35 mm SLR method created to compete with Nikon and Canon’s bestsellers. The OM method introduced a new trend towards more compact cameras and lenses, getting considerably smaller than its competitors and presenting innovative design functions such as via-the-lens flash automation. Eventually the method included 14 distinct bodies and roughly 60 Zuiko-branded lenses.
The business is a leading manufacturer of digital cameras, with a large range of compact digital cameras. Olympus is the designer of the Four Thirds Method regular for digital single-lens reflex camera design and development. Because 2003, Olympus has introduced eight E-method cameras.

I love Mary Hopkin

Mary Hopkin (born Might 3, 1950) is a Welsh folk singer. She is ideal identified as 1 of the initial artists to sign to The Beatles’ Apple Records label.
Alongside playing solo gigs and with her band about the local clubs, Mary released an album of Welsh language songs on a label known as Cambrian who were based in her residence town of Pontardawe, just before signing to the Beatles’ Apple Records. The model Twiggy saw her winning the British ITV tv talent show Opportunity Knocks and recommended her to Paul McCartney. She became one of the very first artists to record on The Beatles’ Apple record label.
Mary’s debut single, ‘Those Were the Days’, produced by Paul McCartney, was released in the UK on August 30, 1968. On 21 February 1969 her debut album, ‘Postcard’, also produced by McCartney, was released.
She represented the United Kingdom in the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest singing ‘Knock Knock, Who’s There?’, coming second in the competition. If you mention Eurovision to Mary now, she pulls a disgusted face, not simply because she came second, but due to the fact this represents the pinnacle of the sugary sweet pop world that she hated.
Her second album, ‘Earth Song, Ocean Song’, was released by Apple on October 1, 1971. The record was produced by Tony Visconti and included cover versions of songs written by Cat Stevens, Gallagher and Lyle, and Ralph McTell. This is by far Mary’s favourite album and she regrets being unable to promote it effectively, becoming tied up in a summer season.
After marrying Visconti in 1971, Hopkin withdrew from the pop music scene to have a family members. Delaney (who changed his name to Morgan) was born in 1972 and Jessica in 1976. Though reportedly unhappy with show company, Hopkin did not cease recording. She travelled to Australia with Visconti in January 1972 and performed at a significant outdoor rock festival in South Australia, as well as giving concerts in numerous key cities. With the support of Visconti, 1972 saw the release of the Christmas songs ‘Mary Had a Baby’/'Cherry Tree Carol’ on Regal Zonophone Records, which was re-released in 1973. These have been released on CD by Mary Hopkin Music (that is us) in 2008.
She was in a band known as Sundance with Mike Hurst and Mike de Albuquerque of ELO, and then she created an album with the original band known as Oasis (nothing to do with those naughty brothers) which also featured Julian Lloyd Webber and Peter Skellern.
Lots of recording projects over the years kept Mary as busy as she desires to be, and none of them had been ever intended as a "comeback", even though this is tends to be what takes place.
Her daughter, Jessica Morgan, released ‘Live at the Royal Festival Hall 1972′ in 2005 under the label Mary Hopkin Music. When Jessica opened Space Studios later that year with her partner Chris Thomas (the other one, not the Pink Floyd record producer), Mary Hopkin Music was incorporated into the studio which now supplies a haven where Mary can record.
Mary lives a nomadic life style, flitting about in between countries. Rumour has it that she lives in a chateau in France where she can only be reached by carrier pigeon. Whilst not strictly accurate, she nonetheless values her privacy.
